Design Concept

This is an experiment with a classic optical illusion. I found several black and white optical illusions online and drew my own version in Corel Draw, then added color and value gradations. The fabric was printed by Spoonflower. I quilted the colored stripes in a leaf pattern and meander quilted the background in shades of grey.

This “banner” quilt was made especially for a banner exhibition in the Peninsula Fiber Artists’ Fiber Habit Window in Port Townsend, Washington.
