Caryl's series of "ILLUSION" quilts explore the illusion of overlapping transparent triangles. In this class each student will construct a small sample 16" x 22" rectangle, to learn the basic concept behind the "ILLUSION" quilts. This can be made into a 25" x 30" wall quilt, with the addition of a border. Once you have learned the basic techniques you will be able to develop your own variations on "ILLUSIONS".

Supplies Needed:

FABRIC:

• A kit including pattern and all fabric for the quilt top will be provided for $35.00 kit fee.

SEWING MACHINE: One that is clean, friendly and well adjusted.  If you own a walking foot,  bring it along. You must know how to operate your sewing machine.

OTHER SUPPLIES:

• Thread: Black, and a medium, neutral color
• Long, heavy duty extension cord with at least two outlets.
• Iron Preferably with steam- may be shared by 2-3 people
• Table Top Ironing Pad
• Scissors (for paper and fabric)
• Scotch Brand Magic Tape (or other non-shiny cellophane tape)
• Rotary Cutter, Board (Preferably large with grid) and Ruler (24" if possible)
• A few sheets of paper for taking notes. 
• Litter bag
• OPTIONAL: a 24" x 30" square of batting for laying out your strips
