Design Concept
In 1997, two of my neices and nephews had new babies. These two
quilt were made as gifts to celebrate their arrival. Naturally their
siblings and cousins also had a good time with the new quilts.
The piecing in both of these quilts was based on strips cut in
the Fibonacci sequence of numbers (1-2-3-5-8-etc). The fabrics in
the grid strips were hand dyed in gradations of color and value,
and the background fabric was painted with dye in a variety of bright
clear colors.
