Concept This is one of a series of quilts in which three dimensional, constructed tucks are incorporated into a pieced background.  The background was pieced to create the illusion of a diamond of black and white stripes, floating in a field of rainbow stripes. Each tuck is pieced from two different fabrics.  The right sides of the tucks are a gradation of pure rainbow hues.   The left sides of the tucks are a black and white striped fabric that appears as black and white checks in the tucks. Successive borders of rainbow striped fabric and black and white checks complete the front of the quilt.  The back of the quilt is pieced in a random pattern from fabric left over from the front. | |
