Design
Concept This is one of a series of quilts in which three-dimensional, constructed tucks are incorporated into a background fabric. The background and border fabrics were hand painted with dye and the fabrics in the tucks were hand dyed in color gradations. The use of graduated colors and values and the twisting of the tucks from one side to the other creates the illusion of movement and light on the surface of the quilt.
