Design Concept

This was a small square of cloth that I hand painted with dye. I used textile paint to add three painted maple leaves. I added a black border and quilted the whole thing in maple leaf and flame patterns, letting the quilting drift into the black border. I used heavy #30 top stitching thread in various colors so the stitching would show. The binding is made from another hand-painted fabric.
