Design Concept

This house portrait quilt was commissioned by the owners of the house, Phil and Debbie Foss, of Lake Forest, Illinois. The house is made of hand painted silk and Herculon upholstery fabric. The landscape fabrics are all hand dyed cottons. The radiating, string-pieced border reflects the redwood paneling on the outside of the second floor deck and the ceiling paneling inside the house.
