Design
Concept This is one of a series of quilts in which three dimensional, constructed tucks are pieced into a patterned background. The background fabrics were hand painted with fiber reactive dyes in diagonal atripes of rainbow hues. Two different sets of diagonal stripes are alternated, creating the illusion of glowing spots of color coming from an unknown source. The compositing is divided into three horizontal sections, divided and bordered by solid black. The left sides of the tucks are made from a 40 shade gradation of pure rainbow hues. The rights sides are solid black.
