Design
Concept
This is the first of a series of quilts inspired by the contours of the earth as seen from an airplane. Five shades of black white and gray were cut into contoured shapes and fused onto cotton batting. The composition was then quilted in lines that echo the contoured design. A narrow red border surrounds the center square, followed by a second border of large black and white checks. |
