Design Concept

This design grew out of a fabric challenge by members of the Peninsula Fiber Artists. It began with an 1/8th yard piece of African fabric. I photographed the fabric and placed a small rectangular detail on my computer screen in Corel Draw. I began by painting extensions to the lines in the fabric. Then I mirror imaged the painted design and reversed the colors. After several more evolutions of the design, I sent it to Spoonflower to be printed on cotton fabric. It is quilted with many different colors of polyester and acrylic thread.
