Design
Concept
This quilt was commissioned for a private home in Oak Park, Illinois. The design is an original interpretation of some prairie style (Frank Lloyd Wright inspired) windows that we had in our home. The background fabric was dyed dark green. Grass and willow leaved were laid on top, and some of the color was discharged with bleach, leaving the silhouettes of the leaves. Gold satin was used to suggest the gold leave used in the actual windows. |
