The Sweet Spot was made for Poetic Threads, a special collaboration between the Peninsula Fiber Artists and the Olympic Peninsula Authors. This quilt was inspired by a poem about paddle boarding by Laura E. Garrard.
My design began with a simple line drawing of a woman on a paddle board. I use photographic images of my hand painted fabrics to fill the spaces between the lines in the drawing, adjusting the colors and values within each space.
The quilting was done with many different colors of acrylic and polyester thread. |
