Design Concept

This is one of a series of small quilts exploring intersecting color and value gradations. The design reminded me of a Venus flytrap plant lurking, ready to catch an insect.

For the background I have used a gradation from deep forest green to Fuchsia. The curving points in the “flowers” were appliqued.
