Concept This is one of a series of quilts incorporating twisted, constructed tucks into a pieced background. The background is composed of two gradations; light to dark blue, and light to dark rust. The left sides of the tucks are the blue gradation and the right sides are the rust gradation. A radiation string-pieced border, in which the two gradations alternate, surrounds the center panel. The tucks were constructed separately and inserted into the seams of the background. They are then twisted and stitched down with zigzag lines of quilting, to give the illusion of movement over the surface of the quilt. |
