Design Concept

These quilts were both created from the same piece of fabric. I drew a design on the paper side of fusible web and carefully cut out the shapes for Stream of Consciousness #1. These were machine appliqued to a black background fabric. The negative shapes from Stream of Consciousness #1 were then arranged on black fabric and machine appliqued, creating a reverse image in Stream of Consciousness #2.
