Design Concept

The design for this quilt came during a sleepless night when I got out of bed, and made a series of ten small drawings to pass the time. One of these drawings was refined to create the design for this quilt. The final design was enlarged and drawn full size on a four foot square piece of paper to create the templates for this quilt.

The full size cartoon was cut up into individual templates, which were used as patterns for cutting my fabric shapes. The spiky black and white curves were paper pieced directly on the paper templates.
