This the first of a series of miniatures made in 2020 and based on my previous original designs. In 2012, the top for Lepidopteran #3 was pieced, appliqued, and embroidered using fabric that I designed for Benartex, based on my hand-painted originals. The photograph of the unquilted top of Lepidopteran #3 was digitally printed on cotton fabric and machine quilted with many different colors of thread. The backing fabric is the same fabric used in the original quilt. |
