Concept This is one of a series of quilts in which three dimensional, constructed tucks are incorporated into a patterned background.  The background fabric was hand painted with fiber reactive dye then cut into strips. The strips were reassembled, with a tuck in each seam allowance. A gradation of pure rainbow colors was used on the left sides of the tucks, and a value gradation of black to white was used on the left sides. A radiating, string-pieced border of intersecting color and value gradations surrounds the center panel. | |
