Ron continued to enjoy his photography hobby during 2017.  For travel photos, he uses mostly a Sony RX1 with a fixed 35mm focal length and a full-frame 24Mpx sensor, or a Canon SX710HS point-and-shoot camera.  For more artful images, he has additional options.  Here is a selection of photos from 2017.  Most are taken with the Sony a7Rii mirrorless camera having interchangeable lenses and a full-frame 42.4Mpx sensor, which rocked the camera world in 2015.  Then in December, 2017, Sony released the fabulous new a7Riii camera, and Ron was one of the first adopters.  The new camera uses the same sensor as Mark II, but has many additional capabilities.  The Sony prime and zoom lenses range in focal length from 16mm to 400mm, and some bird pictures were captured at a distance of about 40 ft with a telescope having an equivalent focal length of about 1000mm.  The hummingbird and birdbath splashing motions were stopped with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 second.  There are also a few images taken with a digital microscope of parts from the watchmaker supplies that Caryl inherited from her Dad. Enjoy!!
