Jacuzzi Jazz #2 is my second quilt inspired by a spiraling fractal. It is the first pieced quilt I have made since 2019. To see larger images, details, and the whole process of making this quilt CLICK HERE or on the pictures.

In the January of 2020, we spent a week in Tucson, AZ and visited the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, where we took hundreds of photos. In 2018 I made a quilt called Splash for a SAQA juried show called Shifting Tides. The show was for quilts about the environment of the Pacific Ocean and open to artists from the Pacific states, California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii. The traveling schedule took it to the Visions Art Museum in the Winter of 2021, and the museum had to close because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Visions organized a series of artists’ talks on Zoom in February and March, and this is an expanded version of my artist’s presentation. This is my second quilt of 2021. In January of 2020, we visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, where they have an amazing raptor free-flight show. This is my first quilt of 2021. In February 2020 we did a photographic workshop/tour in Antarctica. I loved the peaceful image of this cormorant, floating among the ice bergs in the remote and pristine wilderness. I decided to incorporate a lot of negative space in my design and digitally painted the background in a gradation from aqua to white.
